Time Has Run Out on Watches


US watch sales, which have been on the decline since 2001, fell another 4.9 % in 2005. Men in particular have abandoned watches as cell phones and PDA’s have become the norm. Moreover, the added costs of owning a cell phone and paying for an internet package, text message blast package, and of course, cool ringtones, have bit into discretionary income that may have previously been used for watch purchases.

The future looks bleak for watch sales, but I guess only time will tell.
