Text messages provide a form of birth control to female population

Text messages serve a great purpose of communicating quickly and efficiently with friends, but now they have an even better purpose: reminding females to take their daily contraceptive pill.
One in five young women forgets to take their contraceptive pill at least twice a month according to http://www.mknews.co.uk/news/luton/2006/dec/1/contraception%20text%20reminder.lpf The service will be targeting young women ages 14-19 in hopes of reducing unwanted pregnancy.
For privacy reasons, the text message can be customized to say whatever the client wants it to. Messages will come directly to the mobile phone at the time desired.
Kate Folkard, teenage pregnancy coordinator for Luton Primary Care said, “Although responsibility for taking the pill remains with the young women, we hope this service will help to reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies.”
