Carriers Forcing Text Message Plans

Cingular has now announced that it is also raising its price per text message to 15 cents per text sent or received. Now, who would pay 15 cents per text when you can get a bucket text plan for as little as 1 cent per text. Clearly, the carriers are trying to force more consumers to opt-in for a text message plan.
In the long run, this is good news for the mobile data content industry. With more Americans opting for bucket text message plans, it will mean more promotional mobile marketing programs coming to a cell phone near you.
