Contacting your boss by text messaging? You be the Judge!

By Ashley Randazzo

In this high-paced, technological society, what does it mean to actually contact your boss via text message? I personally, as a senior in my last semester of college feel it can sometimes be inappropriate, unless otherwise authorized. Call me not with the times, or old fashioned, but I just feel there are too many questions involved with sending a text message to your boss. Things like, do I use short hand words like the letter “R” for a sentence like, “R U here?” That’s the last thing I need to be thinking about when I need to discuss something important with my boss.

But on the other had, it can be a useful tool, just as long as all parties use text messaging and feel comfortable doing so. Text messaging is preference based, use it or don’t. “U undrstnd?”
