NCAA Bans Text Messages to Recruits

Yesterday, the NCAA’s board of directors approved a ban on all text messages from coaches to recruits beginning in in August.
The board approved the ban by a 13-3 vote. The ban doesn’t just stop with text message alerts. It also includes video phones, video conferencing, and message boards on social networking sites like Facebook.
