Americans Reply to Text Ads More than Others

Americans don’t receive as many text message advertisements as Europeans do, but they tend to respond more often, according to a study from M:Metrics.
The study found that 17.2% of Americans received a mobile advertising message in July while in Europe over 75% received advertising messages on their cell phone.
In the USA, 12% of all those who received mobile advertising actually responded to them. The United Kingdom had the second highest response rate of 9.2%.
Of Americans who received text message ads, 73% of those ads are from their cell phone carrier. 17.5% said they received cell phone advertising from a company that they had opted-in to receive such mobile marketing messages. 21.1% of those who received advertising said that they had not given permission to receive cell phone advertising.
