US Consumption of Mobile Content
The USA still trails the rest of the world in its consumption of mobile content and application, especially when it comes to receiving an advertisement via text message. In the USA, only 19% report receiving an SMS advertisement compared to 51% in the European Union and 72% in Spain.
Other statistics form the M:Metrics study concluded that:
* 4.5% have watched a video
* 6.2% have listened to music
* 13.0% have accessed news
* 9.0% have played a game
* 4.6% have downloaded an application
* 21.4% have sent or received photos
* 9.7% have purchased ringtones
* 11.9% have used email
* 3.9% have access social networking sites.
