Mobile Internet Stats

Here are some facts about mobile internet penetration, according to Nielsen Mobile.

• The US, UK, and Italy are the worldwide leaders in terms of internet penetration.  15.6% of USA subscribers are active users of the mobile internet followed by 12.9% in the UK and 11.9% in Italy.
• 95 million Americans have paid for mobile internet.
• 14% of wireless subscribers in the USA have unlimited data packages.
• Yahoo Mail is the most popular USA wireless web site with 14 million monthly visitors.
• 50% of mobile web users are 35 or older.
• 26% of mobile internet users in the United States can recall seeing some kind of mobile advertising.
• 23% of USA mobile data users expect to see more mobile advertising in the future.  32% are happy to see more mobile advertising if it lowers bills.
