Mobile Advertising Grows
U.S. mobile advertisments are set to grow from $169 million in 2008 to $229 million this year, according to Magna, a media forecasting agency. It is expected that this growth will come from the strength in mobile advertising and from the spread of the mobile web.

Magna says new smartphones will energize the U.S. mobile advertising, doubling the revenue growth to $409 million by 2011.
Smartphones may also decrease this number. According to Magna, users are logging on to the mobile internet and viewing mobile advertisements, but those same users are also spending a lot more time engaged with applications instead of mobile internet. This may potentially cut the mobile advertisment spend.
