Ringtone Sales Drop
Ringtone sales are dropping. That shouldn’t be news to anybody.
According to a study by SNL Kagan, ringtone sales for 2007 were $714 million and dropped 24% in 2008 to $541 million.
It’s not all doom and gloom for ringtone sales, however. Sales of ringback tones have increased from 176 million in 2007 to $199 million in 2008. A ringback tone is the song that plays instead of the ringing tone when you call somebody else.
