Mobile Ad Spending to Top $6 Billion

Mobile advertising will exceed $6 billion by 2014, according to a study by Juniper Research. This is a slight upgrade from the projection from last year.

Despite the increase, mobile advertising is still a small part of the overall advertising spending marketplace. Just 1.2% of the total advertising dollars will be spent on mobile advertising in 2014..

By that time, the dominance of SMS advertising will decrease and mobile ads on portals and mobile websites will eclipse text message advertisements. Still, text message advertising is considered to be a significant contributor throughout the next decade.
