Text Message Voting Helps Name Baseball’s Hottest Wife
A text message voting program operated by mobile marketing site 84444.com has helped name Baseball’s Hottest Wife.
For the second year in a row, model Heidi DeRosa has been named Baseball’s Hottest Wife by Fantasy Baseball Dugout–a web site that reports on the popular pastime of fantasy baseball.
The web site used both online voting and text message voting to choose the 2009 Hottest Wife. Most of the text message votes were generated through the hottest wife video that the site placed on YouTube.
Final results showed DeRosa, wife of St. Louis Cardinals’ player Mark DeRosa, winning in a landslide. DeRosa’s victory was spurred by an outpouring of support from the midwest after local on-air talent at KHITS radio urged listeners to vote for the hometown hottie.
Jordan Schneider, wife of Mets’ catcher Brian Schneider, had the most text message votes, and finished second overall. Third place went to Olympic volleyball star Misty May-Treanor, wife of Tigers’ catcher Matt Treanor.
