How to Send EMail to a Cell Phone
Sending an email to a cell phone is known as SMTP technology, as opposed to the more common SMPP
technology which delivers traditional SMS text messages.
Most American carriers offer free email to SMS gateways which you can use from the convenience of your Outlook or other email software to send emails to cell phones. All you need to know is the cell phone number and the carrier for your friend.
You should not, however, use this method for promotional purposes. If the carriers see you sending too many email messages to cell phones, they will shut your service off. The reason is that you must use a short code to send promotional text messages or advertisements.
