The MSO Document
The file extension mso indicates the file on your computer is most definatley a file that belongs to a Microsoft Office program. This is not the same as the Microsoft doc file extensions. The mso file type cannot be read on its own. The mso file type has no significance on it’s own.
This type of file is used when sending Microsoft Word documents through email. The file extension mso is embedded in each doc file so that the document is properly sent and able to be read. It is always necessary for this to occur if the document is to be rendered through the email properly.
