For the first time, the NBA will allow its fans to vote for the NBA All-Stars via text message voting.

Fans can vote once per day, per phone number, by texting a player’s last name to the short code 69622.  The NBA is also accepting paper ballots at NBA arenas and on the NBA web site.

The NBA All-Star ballot lists 60 players per conference.  Fans can vote for all five starters on their ballots.  The final date for text message voting will be on January 18.

Expect a huge crowd this year.  The NBA All-Star game will be held on February 14 in Dallas at the new Cowboys Stadium.  The anticipated crowd of in excess of 80,000 is expected to be an all-time record for the NBA.
