Miss America Chooses Text Message Voting
The Miss America pageant continues to make itself more modern in its approach.
Text message voting will choose a semi-finalist in tonight's Miss America contest.
This year, viewers will be able to pick one Miss America contestant to be guaranteed to have a spot as a semi-finalist through text message voting. Fans who watched Miss America: Behind the Curtain on Friday night at 10 pm EST found out which of the 12 Miss America candidates were eligible for the text message voting and the direct route to the semi-finals.
To vote for your favorite Miss America contestant, simply use your wireless phone to text her STATE to the shortcode 97979. Message and Data Rates May Apply.
The Miss America pageant will air on TLC on Saturday, January 30, at 8 PM.
