More and more Americans are sending text messages in their sleep according to an article in the New York Daily News.
In fact, one patient of an Ohio sleep center said that they sent nude pictures of herself while sleeep-texting. I wonder if they were sent to Tiger Woods, Jesse James or Brett Favre?
“It’s so easy to receive emails constantly, and get notifications form smartphones,” said Dr. David Cunnington, of the Melbourne Sleep Disorder Center, “it becomes more difficult for us to separate our waking and sleeping lives.”
The best treatment for sleep texters appears to be (ugh!) not sleeping in the same room as your smart phone. This is not likely to happen. According to Ohio Sleep Medicine, four out of five of its patients sleep with their smartphones.
Well, at least they aren’t driving and texting.
